A Contemporary Design for Our First Banquet Hall

Banquet Hall Design

Project by Olbos Studio

They were looking for a design that would make their guests feel like stepping into wonderland.

When we first met Julie and Ruma, one single thing was clear about their new joint business venture: they were looking for a design that would make their guests feel like stepping into wonderland. They wanted their banquet hall design to be modern, different, elegant and memorable.

We analyzed several mood-boards and references together, in few they pointed at some details that they liked, but nothing was fully convincing to them. As we slowly learned to understand their taste, they started to trust our suggestions and, together, we defined the key elements for a unique project.

The venue is now under construction, but we are delighted to share a few hints to switch on your curiosity.

Three-dimensional panels will be applied to the walls

After a few decades during which wedding venues had to be kitsch in order to contrast the minimalistic tendencies of most interior designers, a renovated interest for 3D surfaces presents the opportunity to obtain elegant spaces without exaggerations: not kitsch, not trendy, not too simple, but chic!

We evaluated with the clients a few manufacturers and cost-effective solutions. They chose to finish the walls with some resistant and durable MDF panels that will be painted and primed directly on site, alternating them with insertions of curvilinear shapes and geometric wallpapers. The ribbed MDF panels are available in various designs and decorative sections, so we recommended a neutral one and a more elaborate one.

Handmade custom tiles for the Bridal Room

Unique ceramic tiles will characterize a classy environment well suited for the preparation of the future brides and their friends.

Elegant and sober design

Through a simple repetitive design and the introduction of a few variations, the banquet hall will look elegant and welcoming for any tipe of event.

Artistic light elements

For the decorative lights, we are collaborating with a Brooklyn-based Italian artist who paints fabrics for events. Together with her, we are designing a custom installation that will create an interesting luminous effect around the whole space and will be easily adaptable to the different types of guests the venue will be hosting.

Our adventure with this project started in September 2021, we are moving towards completion and are absolutely looking forward to sharing the results with you. If in the meantime you have any questions, do not be shy - we are always curious to hear about new projects and ready to help!
